One of our stops always involves enjoying a great meal at the Greek Islands Taverna Restaurant on N. Ocean Blvd. Waiter Bob (in the background) serves up great and gracious service, including a glass or two of Retsina.

When I moved to Houston in 1978, palm trees were alluring and their appeal still stands tall. Sometimes stunning.

Another "must-do," a bike ride up Ocean Blvd to the Casablanca Cafe, right across the road from the Atlantic O.Having a Morrocan beer while breathing in the soft and salty air with My Love.

The MidSummer Night's Parade, Krewe of O.A.K.

Had never attended this Fandango--our Landlady & Landlord were unable to go so on their behest, we went. It was way too crowded, but it was certainly something to behold: Costumes, Pageantry, Drinking, Music, Dancing & Parading in the Streets. Starting at Oak Street in front of Hank's place, (The Maple Leaf, where I have enjoyed many drunken escapade-filled nights)--cascading down Carrollton to Palmer Park which was even more crowded...

Urban South Brewery

Me & My Honey took a bike ride out to the brewery on Tchoupitoulas Street, across the street from The Grid and the former Cotton Press on the River, in an old warehouse.

Had to check out the Grapefruit Beer release--(having one now.) It's not as sweet as Abita Grapefruit Beer, but they got me hooked, then quit making it. DOH!

Ran into my former boss' former partner, Larry Centola! Hadn't seen him in ages.
